I have been married to a wonderfully supportive and patient man for 31 years. We have three adult children, our two oldest are participants at Next Step Farms and our youngest is competing her freshman year in college, oh how she is missed at home.
I attended college at Calhoun Community college my first year before transferring to Alabama A & M, where I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. Upon completion of my bachelor’s degree, I had been accepted into the Vocational Rehab master’s program. Due to the medical and personal needs of our two oldest children I postponed working on master’s degree until 2011. That’s when I returned to college and received my master’s degree in counseling. I’m a board-certified licensed counselor with a local private practice.
Next Step Farms has been a true blessing, moving our family direction from being lost, confused, and scared about the future, to feeling hopeful, blessed, and having a new outlook. Our adult children that participate in the program are eager to share what they have learned, excited for each day they are able to attend, and love telling all their friends about everything at The Farm.
